No really. Remember those allergies I told y’all about? Well the congestion and drainage is all gone but I’ve been coughing for 2 weeks. I’ve taken Mucinex, Sudafed, Dayquil, Theraflu, Robitussin, and something else I can’t remember. I even made my own thyme herbal tea from scratch. And if you know me you know that I DON’T DRINK TEA. Sometimes the cough is dry and other times it feels as though there is junk blocking my airwaves and if I could just cough hard enough I could get it out.
When I cough I have to use the restroom. I feel like someone who should be in a commercial for Depends.
Here lately I break out into a feverish sweat and become so nauseous it’s hard to stand. I can’t sleep because I keep coughing and during the day I’m so tired and drugged up that I fall asleep at work.
I lost my appetite and only ate oranges for three days in a row.
I am drinking water by the gallons….but then I have to use the bathroom even more.
I’ve rubbed my chest, back, and feet with vapor rub.
I’m miserable.
I have a doctor’s appointment in 8 hours and I pray to the universe that he gives me a shot of something in my big butt to make me stop coughing.
I have my first night race tomorrow and I haven’t done any exercising in 2 weeks but I am determined to complete it….coughing and all.
Tonight someone posted an article on Facebook about natural remedies for whooping cough. I think I have whooping cough.

My allergies turned into a upper respiratory infection recently. Sounds like the same thing happened to you, but you are taking too much medication that is canceling each other out. I took Tylenol (or Theraflu congestion) to break the fever, drank lots of fresh juice and water, and also had no appetite. Keep taking the Mucinex to get the congestion out, but once the doctor starts you on antibiotics you should start to feel better within days. You should take a couple of days off to rest. Best tea is a garlic tea – basically lemon, cayenne, and crushed garlic. Interesting taste, but clears you right out. Also Apple Cider Vinegar is another good home remedy. Finally, start taking garlic pills. The garlic is amazing. I just got a fresh juice with wheatgrass and that congestion is breaking up like crazy. It tasted awful, but it works. Drink plenty of pineapple juice too which also good for congestion. Feel better soon! Glad you are going to doctor because can turn into bronchitis and pneumonia.
B´s last [type] ..No commitment!
This is exactly how my husband was. I put him on a Z-pak (azithromycin) to get rid of all of that yucky stuff. Hope you’re feeling better.
