Product Review: Pillsbury Breakfast Sandwiches

I actually almost titled this giveaway something different because these sandwiches definitely fall into the “budgeting for household success” category!  You know there are two things going on in my house these days.  1) I’m cooking more and buying more groceries to take for lunch than I’m eating out.  2) I’m trying to lose weight.  Well everyone knows that you should kick start your metabolism in the butt with breakfast and for a while I found myself at the closest QT buying sausage biscuits or the Sonic next to work buying breakfast burritos.  Then one day I decided it would be more cost efficient to BUY MY OWN breakfast at the grocery store and take it to work with me.  I say all of that to say that I’m all about frozen breakfast solutions that I can grab and run out the door with.

Weekday mornings can feel like a balancing act.  Between scrambling to get yourself ready and if you have little people they have to be dressed for school so it can be a challenge to fit in a good, hot breakfast that will set you up for a good day.  Now Pillsbury is bringing your weekend favorites to the weekday breakfast table with new Pillsbury Grands!® Biscuit Sandwiches and Pillsbury Egg Scrambles™.

Available in your grocer’s freezer, Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches and Pillsbury Egg Scrambles heat up in minutes in the microwave.  Made with quality ingredients like fluffy real egg, tasty meat, cheese, Grands! Biscuits and Green Giant® vegetables, the new line of quick and delicious frozen breakfast dishes comes in six flavorful choices:

  • Sausage & Cheese Biscuit Sandwich
  • Bacon & Cheese Biscuit Sandwich
  • Ham & Veggies Biscuit Sandwich
  • Bacon & Veggies Egg Scrambles
  • Sausage Egg Scrambles
  • Sausage & Veggies Egg Scrambles
I tried the Sausage-Egg Scrambles first because I have a co-worker who always eats scrambles and I thought if I liked them that I’d pass my review on to her.  Well I passed my review on anyway because she loves potatoes….which was the one ingredient that soured my scrambles experience.  I really don’t like potatoes for breakfast.
Next I tried the Sausage & Cheese biscuit sandwich and the Bacon & Cheese biscuit sandwich and I’m here to tell you that the biscuits are heavenly!  Each box comes with two biscuits in half with fluffy eggs, cheddar cheese, and meat frozen on top.  You put the two halves in a plate or thick napkin and microwave for 2 minutes.  Then you put the halves together and instant mouth and tummy happiness!
Now it’s obvious at this point that I didn’t pay for mine but the price point on these puppies was pretty reasonable.  At the local grocer they were $2.50 each and we all know that’s the cost of ONE breakfast sandwich or burrito from a fast food restaurant.  Not only that but I guarantee you that your fast food biscuit can’t even tough this Grands! biscuit!  It was what really sold the sandwich for me.  When asked by Pillsbury to try their new breakfast scrambles and breakfast sandwiches, they sent me a pretty neat package. I received 3 coupons to purchase a free package of new Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches or Pillsbury Egg Scrambles, a Doughboy Keychain, and a Doughboy Beanie Doll.  I’ll be honest….I don’t have any children so I gave the beanie doll to a friend’s 2 year old daughter and she said “Tank you for my preshent.” LOL
Well now I have a neat package for you!  Your prize pack will contain:

  • 3 coupons to purchase a free package of new Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches or Pillsbury Egg Scrambles
  • Doughboy Keychain
  • Doughboy Beanie Doll

To enter the contest simply leave a comment telling me which of the products from the list above you want to try the most by Monday and on Tuesday I’ll announce a randomly selected winner!  YAY!!!!
