Stream of Consciousness: Kitchen Vent

My mind is actually running rampant these days.  Between Monday and Friday I MAY have gotten a total of 6 hours sleep.  And every time I did close my eyes and drift off, I had the strangest dreams.  Now it’s not unusual for me to have strange and very vivid dreams.  But these were more abnormal than most….based on my standards.  I had a dream that the man I married couldn’t walk and I carried him.  Wait…actually he couldn’t walk without assistance.  So first I helped him walk and then when he couldn’t I carried him the rest of the way.  If you take that joint literally it’s distracting as hell!  Last night I had a dream that a group of juvenile prisoners were visiting my high school and I was part of the committee that arranged all the activities for the day.  I’m not even going to waste my time trying to figure that one out.

Work on the cupcake business is going well.  I’m tightening up my business plan after I finish writing this and grading papers because I met someone who spends his money investing in small businesses.  I know that he wants to see a solid plan first so I’m working on giving him one.  He also owns the latest location I’ve found that may possibly have my name over the door.  Do you know how hard it is to find a building that is already vented for a kitchen but not big enough to house an Applebee’s?  DAMN HARD I TELL YOU!  Installing a vent could cost upwards of $20,000 so by the time I finished with that, I wouldn’t have any money to run the joint.

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes only.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post.
  • Link up your post on Fadra’s blog (linked in the image above).
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

  • Wow, sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now! Good luck with you business!

As for the dreams, I have some really odd ones too sometimes. Very vivid and real, to the point that I often wake up still completely consumed by whatever emotion the dream brought on. It often takes me a while to convince myself it WAS just a dream. Some medications can make you dream very vividly, and strangely!

  • Hi, I’m popping in from SOCS.

You are one busy lady. Good luck in the business, hope all goes well for you!

  • Woah! 20,000 for a vent?! Yikes. I have no conception of the cost of those things, apparently. Good luck finding just the right space.

  • Good luck with the cupcake business…sound like fun business opportunity. Wow, 20 000…that’s a lot of money!! Happy Sunday….hope you get some sleep!
    Stephanie-

  • Oh wow! That’s a lot of money! But, at the same time, where your business is going sounds so fun and exciting! I wish you all the best! Hopefully, you’ll be able to get some rest soon, too!

I hope that everything works with the business plan and that you get some real sleep.

  • Did I tell you that my secret power is interpreting dreams? You’ve got a lot going on upstairs. But nothing that a few cupcakes can’t fix ;)
