Years ago I dated a congressman for about a year or so. We broke up because I wasn’t convinced that he knew he was gay. I saw his engagement announcement this past weekend and she is very pretty.
This is not a “she’s prettier than me” moment. I’d put us in the same bucket. But when I looked at her picture I thought to myself that when people see her they think “POWER PLAYER”. I can easily imagine her in the district, working an agenda and networking. Power players are people who can put a plan into action and are persistent enough to get results. The examples are vast: Oprah of course, Valerie Jarrett, Linda Johnson Rice, Ann Fudge…you get the picture. This young woman fits the bill of being on that list one day.
I looked in the mirror this morning and asked myself if I saw power player.
