If you’ve ever had a job then you’ve most likely had an interview. And in said interview you were asked a series of basic questions that you may or may not have had standard answers for….the same standard answers.
- If we asked your previous employer about you, what would she say about you?
- What is your biggest weakness?
- Why do you want to work for this company?
- What attracted you to this position?
Like I said, these are questions that you develop a good answer for and stick with because in your mind you’re thinking “I really need a job” but that’s not a suitable answer for anything.
Well I had an interview last week for a job in a field that I have plenty of relevant experience……but no professional experience. Anyway, this was the very first interview I’ve ever done (in my 33 years of living) where I had a different answer for “What attracted you to this position?” and it’s because this may be the first position that I felt truly passionate about the work.
I walked away from the interview excited about being in a field I’d be passionate about. Keep your fingers crossed.

That is wonderful. Being passionate about work makes life feel new again. Let us know how it goes.
