Lesson of the day:

I am reinforcing to myself the lesson of putting stock in good people!  This is a picture of me and my sister.  Best friends since age 6 and raised in the same houses for almost 6 years.  We don’t talk every day but she is good people….my sister.  It’s not just about if I need her…..she’s there for anything and down for whatever.

I was talking to a great friend of mine yesterday and we are both married to men who aren’t big on subscribing to what “society or tradition” says that they should do.  And I was telling her that I have friends who are always quick to show off new jewelry for Valentine’s Day or a birthday and forget that every other day of the year they are telling you what an ass their husband is and how he’s sneaking and creeping.  OR….they’re telling you how much he does around the house and SHE’S sneaking and creeping.  Now I’m not saying that you should just be happy that your husband/boyfriend/wife/whoever isn’t sneaking and creeping.  I’m saying that I’ve learned (from listening to people married in the double digits) to learn to appreciate the good things he does for you any time of year.  That’s a good lesson but it’s not the point of THIS LESSON.  Back to my friend…..just cause I appreciate my husband cleaning off my scrapbooking space so that I can finish my cards doesn’t mean that I don’t want gifts!  Let’s not get beside ourselves now. LOL Gifts are good!  Not getting gifts is bothering the hell out of my friend though and I don’t like that.  So I suggested that next year WE exchange birthday and holiday gifts!  WHY NOT!  She is my friend….and aren’t good friends loved ones?  And don’t the best gifts come from loved ones?  Yep they do!  So there you go…..if you spend your time putting your stock in GOOD PEOPLE then they’ll be there in the manner that you need them to be.  My sister is good people.  My friend Caryn is good people.  Big Sister Gorgeous One is good people.  My sister in law is good people (she better call me and wish me a happy birthday too).

Today I am grateful for….I really need to start blogging in the morning when I remember what I am grateful for. LOL  Oh well…..today I’m grateful for sleeping in, online movies, and good friends.  It’s a good day when you can wake up when you want, talk to your sister and your sorors, watch Scarecrow and Mrs. King reruns online and get ready to watch the Cowboys break this here record the Saints are trying to hold on to.
