On the fifth day of Diva’s birthday, her favorite thing to share was…..

Todai – International Seafood and Sushi Buffet Restaurant

Todai restaurants are family oriented and offer a wide selection of food to appeal to a range of tasters that are considered Asian Fusion Entrees. In addition to a wide assortment of cold dishes including sushi (maki, nigiri, gunkan), Todai also features signatures dishes that are served year round, from snow crab legs to green mussels to cocktail shrimps. Most of the salad dishes are Asian fusion dishes that are in house prepared, from Poached Salmon to Seaweed salad, Chicken Almond Salad and more. Hot Entrée selections include International dishes that are commonly served in China, Japan, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam and more. The Dessert bar also offers a flavor of International fusion pastries, from Italian Tiramisu to Japanese Green Tea Cheesecake, French Crème Puffs & Crème Brulee, American Blueberry Cheesecake and more. Newly added menu items include “made to order” corners, from Crepe corner, sushi hand roll corner, tepanyaki corner and Noodle corner. Todai also serves domestic and imported beers, wine and sake.
Elmer Dills, famous Los Angeles food critic, once described Todai as “THE MOTHER OF ALL SEAFOOD BUFFETS”.

The problem is that I can never eat more than one plate!  I told y’all about my last excursion where the couple next to me put me to shame.  The first time I experienced Todai was in Seattle with TJ.  I’d never seen a seafood and sushi buffet before in my life and I knew that I was with a pro so I couldn’t be scared to try new stuff.  I loved it.  I remember when I first moved to Chicago and we passed the mall with the Todai in it….I was so excited.  One of the reasons I always wanted to live in the big city was to have all the treasures I enjoy at my fingertips.

Lesson of the day:

What I Want
My grandfather always told his children and grandchildren (specifically the girls) if you don’t have dreams, you don’t have nothing.  It’s okay to dream big.  I dream big sometimes.  Of course sometimes I find myself beating myself up for not having the things I dream of…..but don’t do that. Don’t let life stop you from dreaming big.  Remember my “What I Want” board?  I still want ALLLLLLL THAT and some more.  I’m reminding myself today that it’s okay to dream big even if you aren’t there yet….cause if you don’t have dreams then you don’t have nothing.
Today I am grateful for Christmas cards from my friends.  Today I got a card from my high school buddy Amanda (I still can’t believe she has 4 kids), my old co-worker Kim (I think her return address label has turtles on it????), and my friend Chele.  HEY CHELE! I am almost finished with my own holiday cards.  I’m making them and I ran out of adhesive.  The embossing went really good though.  And the white on black is MUCH better and easier to read than the silver.

Yumm! Where can I find a seafood buffet?
I made Angel hair in alfredo with scallops last night and I overcooked it. I desperately need some -good- seafood.
