Black people across the country are talking about the season premier of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the scuffle between RH Sheree and her party planner Anthony Shorter. Aside from the conversations about money and the famed line “Who gon check me boo” which is already appearing on t-shirts, there has been some healthy discussion about Mr. Shorter’s professional future as a party planner.
Today I visited a site with plenty of comments and saw a black blogger that I am familiar with say that she does not do business with black folks because the stereotypical behavior has no place in the business world. That is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read. And while I’m sure she is telling the truth about her preference in vendors, she is only doing a disservice to herself. All black people are not finger snapping, neck breaking, loud talking people who curse you out in an office. I’m not sure whether that is best described as close minded or backwards!
