I can’t explain why or what happened….but I feel more like myself than I have in a long time.

Anyway…In undergrad, I used to work the overnight shift at the dorm and the manager on duty was my friend Cookie.  I’ve written about Cookie before.  Male visitors were only allowed in the lobby area and the front doors were locked after 11pm.  Residents had to knock on the glass to get our attention and admittance to the dorm (after showing ID).  Every day around 2 or 3 am some chick would come to the door looking like she’d be on the giant tea cups at Disneyland or white water rafting through a monsoon.  Cookie used to tell em…”girl why are you coming in here looking rode hard and put up wet!  At least stay through the night and get you some damn bacon and eggs in the mernin!”

Southern Saying: Rode hard and put up wet.
Translation: Looking rough; a term that originated with people that ride horses, since you are supposed to brush them and groom them after a workout.
Usage: Man, you look like you been rode hard and put up wet.

The saying crossed my mind when reading The Frisky today.  It’s an old article, but Dr. V gave tips for healing an irritated sex spot.  I read some stuff that even I hadn’t heard of.
