Morning folks…….Creole and some other folks have asked what happened to my podcast.  Well I have the playlist all ready to go but some extremely inconsiderate person has kept me on the phone well past my bedtime for the past two nights and I haven’t been able to record it.  (Bad you!)

I realized something yesterday.  The bad thing about “meeting” people that read your blog is that you can’t write about them later.   For example, when I went out to Maryland in March I met Hostess, Honest, and Cool AC for dinner (Thank you ladies AGAIN AND AGAIN for driving over to Annapolis.  It was great!)  Well what if that dinner hadn’t gone well OR had some really really funny (but embarrassing) moments?  I couldn’t write about them without offending those ladies.  Now that’s just an example so don’t think I’m hinting at something.

I’ve written about someone I know in real life before without a care but never another blogger I’ve met.  What if Creole pisses me off one day and I want to write about her being a hateful and selfish heffa.  Blog folks are so extremely messy that she’d probably have 20 emails telling her to come read it and sitting back waiting for the fireworks (cause y’all know we’re still in jr. high right?)  Or what if I go to Miami and get drunk with Sonny Redd.  I can’t detail the drunken exploits without telling all his business in the process and thereby offending him…….cause he reads my blog on a regular basis.

Anyone else ever thought about this?  Or have you ever met someone from the “blog world” that you really didn’t like?

Yesterday was Independence Day.  My grandmother made the following statement:

Independence for a country……not necessarily a people.  Our black folks weren’t here yet and when they did arrive it wasn’t in freedom.  Our Dutch folks weren’t here yet and when they did it was as immigrants.  And our Native American folks?  Hmph.  We ALL know how that turned out.

Leave it to the Grand Diva to give her own unique interpretation of the holiday.

Yesterday I got caught up in a marathon of the new Lifetime TV series, Army Wives.  I had every intention of ignoring this show simply because I tend to get over emotional when it comes to the other half of military life….the ones left behind.  I don’t even remember how I started watching the marathon but I’m pretty sure that I’m hooked now.  It was amazing.  I don’t know why I’m surprised though.  I have always been pleased with the original shows that Lifetime creates.  This is just another cap in their feather.

Watching it did make me give some serious thought to my friend who volunteered to deploy.  I think I’m going to write a letter.

I read Celebrity Baby Blog and I want y’all to see two of the cutest kids I have EVER seen (aside from my J-Boogie of course).

Coco Arquette

August Miklos Friedrich (Son of actress Mariska Hargitay)

Those babies are absolutely adorable!

If you don’t feel like being crushed by Transformer fans this weekend you should go check out Nancy Drew or Fantastic Four 2.  Don’t get it twisted….Nancy really isn’t for kids as much as adults who were hooked on her sleuthing exploits as a child.  TRUST ME.  The humor is way over the head of your average 8 year old.  Only us old people who know Nancy’s history will truly love it.  And regardless of what Luke says….Fantastic Four 2 was really really good.  I found myself actually sitting on the edge of my seat trying not to bite my nails.  Or I would notice that my entire body was tight with my teeth clenched waiting to see what happened next.  Plus it was great to see Kerry Washington with a bigger role.
