Can you really understand hood if you didn’t grow up (or experience) in the hood? Seriously. I hear a lot of bourgie types saying that just because they’re not from the hood doesn’t mean that they don’t understand the hood. I know you don’t have to BE hood to be from the hood. But can you REALLY know the hood if you don’t KNOW it? That’s like telling me you know where Williams Chicken is but that can’t be compared to experiencing a 2 piece with a biscuit and a pepper for $1.99.

Why do people stop eating bologna once they make it? Back in the day a fried bologna and cheese sandwich was like a treat.

I always thought chili in a can was a condiment for hot dogs….like mustard and relish. Did y’all know that people eat it as a meal? One of my co-workers was telling us that she had a frito chili pie for dinner and I asked her where she bought it from. She told me that she made it. My face must have given away the fact that I know she can’t cook because she quickly followed up by saying it was chili out of a can. That just ruined my taste for chili.

Certain words always make you think of a smell or taste. For example when I hear the word orange I automatically think of citrus. If I’m watching television and they’re painting a wall orange (bright orange) then I think of a “Miami flavored” room with bright colors…oranges, yellows and greens. When I hear the word warm I think of fall colors and neutrals…..different shades of browns and deep reds. And when I hear the word ’stank’ I think of pure damn garbage. My niece told me about a little girl in her class that walks like she’s stank. My nose just wrinkled up and I developed an opinion of the little girl and I’ve never even met her. But when I do I’ll automatically think she’s “stank”.

I’m watching the Democratic Presidential Debate. Did Senator Dodd just say that he has a plan for decreasing the cost of oil in the year 2017? 2017? Seriously? I love John Edwards. Here it is officially people, Original Diva WILL be voting for John Edwards (just like I did last time) and I have said it before and I’ll say it again – An Edwards/Obama ticket is the right way to go. Listen to me on this one. Originally I was extremely impressed with Governor Richardson but he doesn’t come across as the strongest candidate in my opinion. Look forward to a Democratic candidate commentary from me soon. They’ve started….I might as well.
