Overheard at The Grand Diva’s house yesterday while I was in town for the birthday dinner.
 
I went to church to usher this morning and forgot to put my hair on. My head was so cold that I had to go home and get my hair before coming over here.
 
Mitch you need to wash my car. I shut the door today and dust flew.
 
I was the first person of color admitted to the nursing program in Tulsa. They tried to tell me that I was black. I told them that black is a descriptive color. Your suit is black. A sweater is black. I’m brown. Ain’t never been black.
 
“Is that pink? It looks white. Well I guess the thread looks pink.” “Grand Diva how can you see the color of the thread but have to squint to see the actual material?”
 
I told Dorothy that you ain’t supposed to wait til your husband is dead to throw your back out.
 
Pastor tried to embarrass me this morning. Telling everyone to repeat after him “Church starts at 9:00″ I repeated it but I’ll probably be late next Sunday too.
