I have never told the world about my siblings.  They are quite the cast of characters.  Yes I am an only child. I am the only child my mother and father had (together and apart….I’m IT).  When I was 6 years old I met my best friend.  She lived two streets over and her house number was the same as mine.  She is 2 months older than me and we have been connected at the hip ever since.  We were in the same class all through elementary school and had the same schedule in junior high until I transferred to a school with a magnet program.  We went to different high schools but that’ has always been MY GIRL.  My sister.

For reasons that are no one else’s business right now, I lived in her home for close to 2 years and for close to 3 years after that she lived in mine. We are literally each other’s family. Well my sister has a younger sister and an older brother. So in essence, I had 2 sets of parents, 2 sisters and a brother growing up. The funny thing is that I was always the princess in that house too. I’m still the Princess in that house.

Growing up they were always tall (they’re all over 6′2 now and I’m 5 foot even) and mild mannered. Me? I was the fighter of the family. My sister got picked on and challenged for being awkwardly tall. Anybody that teased her got their butt whooped and handed to em. I didn’t play that. You make my sister cry and it’s your ass.

Now let me give you the dynamics of my siblings. My brother is a preacher who married this REDEEMED holier than thou woman. You know the type……..they’ve sinned big time but they’re saved and sanctified now and can tell you all your evil ways and how they’re going to send you straight to hell in flaming underwear. Yeah. She’s one of those. When my sister got married I wasn’t invited to the bridal shower. My sister in law said that it was a saved event and there was no place for heathens.

My big sister is an evangelist. She has the God given gift of talk and married a preacher. She is always being invited to speak at different churches and special programs. I used to do my best to go to every engagement she had but my sister had the bad habit of getting up to the mic and calling on me to come sing a song for her. So I just stopped going. LOL My nickname for her is “The Preacher’s Wife.”

My little sister is very heavily involved in the church. She’s an accountant in Dallas and engaged to this really great real estate investor that she met on her morning commute to work one day. They are so cute together. LOL

All of my siblings were raised in a Pentecostal church; my sisters still wear only dresses and skirts and only cut their hair for maintenance purposes. I was raised Lutheran and will stroll up in church in a bad ass pants suit in a minute.

Religiously and outside appearance wise we all seem to be as different as could be. But there is one great thing we have in common. We were all born and raised on the east side of Fort Worth, Texas. Don’t get it twisted.

My big brother has been overprotective of us since we first started going from girls to young ladies. That is when he stopped letting us sit outside with him and his friends. He didn’t want any problems. LOL He’s still that way. We can be walking through the mall and he will walk right up on me and give men that are checking me out the side eye. He will even stop them from talking to me. Oh but my brother in law isn’t any better. We went to the fair once and a man approached me. Before introductions could even take place my BIL asked the man if he was saved and believed that Jesus died to pay for his sins. Y’all know the loook I gave him right! BIL said that if the man wasn’t saved then there was no point in learning his name. LOL Sometimes I’ll be talking to my brother and he’ll fall out laughing and say “I keep forgetting that God is still working on you.” LOLOLOL I love that boy.

“The Preacher’s Wife” is a fool! Don’t let the shiny suit and matching hat fool you. I keep trying to tell y’all that we keep it gully in funkytown. Two weeks ago my sister called me a punk. LOL I told her how I was trying to be a nicer person and how extremely freakin tired I am of people calling me mean and shit like that. I believe I was updating her on a situation and she took her preacher’s wife hat off and clowned me. She told me I was being a punk bytch and I need to raise up and represent like I’m from FW…….“my mama ain’t raise no punk bytches! you better let them hoes know!”

My siblings were just on my mind today. I don’t know why. I’m going to call them this afternoon and tell em all that I love em. They’re great.

Oh and my lil sis…..she’s a shoe fanatic just like me. LOL
