I just reviewed an issue of Figure Magazine and on the last page there is this great and quirky woman from Des Moines, Iowa and she is talking about the five items that say the most about her personal style. It’s so cute that I had to know about my readers out there. You tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine. LOL
No seriously. If I had to pick 5 items that say the most about my personal style they would be:
1. My eyeglasses. I have 3 different pair and they all say something different about me. I have the pair that says “student” from my MBA days, the pair that says “30 Year Old Grown and Sexy Woman” that are rimless, the pair that says “Event Planning Diva Extraordinaire” that are plastic, square, and funky! I change them out depending on how I’m feeling that day or what I’ll be doing. If I’m doing a site visit or walk through then I break out the fun plastic frames, but if it’s time to sign the contract then believe…I have on the studious pair. The grown and sexy frames……I wear those for Divalicious events.
2. My shoe collection. I never want to have a shoe that can be found at any old store or that everyone in the building has. I go out of my way for a unique/eclectic shoe. I have stilettos that look like sneakers on the toe and then shape into an elegant heel…..they’re powder blue and canary yellow. I have crushed velvet boots with hearts stenciled up the sides. I have wedges covered completely in satin fabric that ties up to my knees. I have leather boots with fur trimming around the knee. If you have on a pair of shoes that look like mine then you had to work hard to find them.
3. My library! Both the amount of books I have the the variety speak to my personal style. You’ll find fiction, biographical, science fiction, historical, everything. Books have shaped me into the person I am…especially style wise. Remember my post about books being my financial weakness. It is so true.
4. My jewelry. I don’t have a lot of jewelry, just some good necessary pieces. Pearls, diamond hoops, a nice watch, and some birthstone jewelry (ring, necklace, earrings). As a matter of fact I have more blue topaz stones than any other. It’s all very simple though.
5. My iPod! Music, music, music………no other words are needed.
What’s on your list?
